Invario Network Engineers provides IT services and cyber security for small and mid-sized businesses. Our main office is located in northern VA, just outside of Washington, DC. We specialize in SMBs that depend on secure, reliable information technology to achieve their business goals.
Invario was founded in 1988 by Dave Wilson. He says, “looking back on that time I had no idea my dalliances would be so lasting. One thing I started doing was to teach myself computer programming. I was writing database programs on a personal computer with a college friend. We were actually able to sell our programs! I saw potential. So instead of applying to business school, I figured I would do it the hard way and start a business.”

Dave Wilson, President
Dave is an entrepreneur and technologist. He founded his first company in 1988 when he saw the need to deliver high quality computer solutions to small businesses in the Washington, DC metro area.
He has since immersed himself in every aspect of the business from running a retail computer parts and repair shop in Arlington, VA to cloud computing and cyber security. Dave holds a CASP+ certification and is a member of the InfraGard partnership between the FBI and the private sector for the protection of U.S. Critical Infrastructure. His passion is solving technical problems for other businesses so they can achieve their goals.
Jared Kohl, VP of Operations
Jared is a senior network engineer with a passion for building reliable and secure computer systems. He oversees selection and implementation of Invario’s solution stack and is an expert in evaluating and implementing new technologies. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
Jared attended Brigham Young University and is a fan of the BYU Cougars as well as the New England Patriots. Among his many other talents, Jared raises chickens and maintains two antique GMC motorhomes, also known as EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicles.

1988
On May 5, 1988, Dave Wilson filed the paperwork with the DC Government to found Digit Head, Inc. His goal was to deliver high quality computer solutions to the Washington, DC metro area.
1990s
Digit Head’s computer repair shop operated out of a storefront at 2420 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington, VA.
2000s
Invario went completely virtual. We invested in heavily in workforce transformation technologies, allowing our technicians to support customers from anywhere.
2010s
Recognizing the need to provide advanced cyber security solutions for our small and mid-sized business customers, we added Managed Security services to our suite of solutions.
2020s
We currently manage thousands of devices, supporting small and mid-sized businesses throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area, across the U.S. and in Europe.
