Below is a list of 5 things that your team can do to practice good computer hygiene and best utilize Invario’s support.

1. Regular Restarts/Shutdowns

Rebooting your computer regularly clears RAM, resolves minor glitches, installs any pending updates, enhances performance, and is an overall good practice to incorporate into your work routine. It helps ensure that your computer functions at its best and may even extend its usable life.

2. Close all programs EOD

Beginning each workday with a clean virtualized workspace can enhance productivity. Moreover, it enables your computer to perform optimally without the burden of unnecessary programs consuming memory. Closing programs also serve as a reminder for any emails not sent or tasks not yet accomplished.

3. Practice strong password management

Use strong, unique passwords for different accounts and apply multi-factor authentication for an additional layer of security. Invario includes a password manager with our managed IT services. The guide HERE explains how to get started. Please contact the Invario help desk if you need a new invitation to the LastPass platform.

4. Complete Security Awareness Training

Employees are your organization’s best defense against cyber-attacks. The training helps you and your team learn about common threats in today’s environment and teaches users to stop and think before clicking that suspicious email link. If you happen to click on something you shouldn’t have, please report it to Invario immediately.

5. Follow Help Desk ticket etiquette

The Invario team is here to support you. Providing proper information ensures efficient and effective support from the team.

  • Be Specific: Clearly describe the issue you’re experiencing. Include what you were doing when the problem occurred and any steps you’ve already taken to resolve it.
  • Prioritize: indicate the urgency of the issue. If the issue prevents you from doing work, it’s a high priority.
  • Leave feedback: After we close your ticket, you’ll see an option to let the Invario team know about the level of support provided.

Bonus Tip: Regularly install updates, such as those coming from your Dell command prompt. This ensures that drivers and other programs are up-to-date with the latest functionality and security.
